We have been looking for an out cross to our line of aussies. After doing extensive research we located a pup in Lousianna last month. She was weaned last Friday night when we drove over there and picked her up. Saturday afternoon we took our youngest daughter to her sheep trialing lessons in Brenham, while we were there we figured we would see what the new pup would do.  While she may not have known exactly what she was doing, I have to believe her herding instincts were kicking in. The following video clip is her first time to see sheep at 8 weeks old.  Her registered name is Half Broke N Up Sheep Creek CC, her barn name is "Palin"

Here is the video clip

Des,
Our youngest daughter has trialing lessons every other weekend in Brenham, we will give you a call next time we are up. We are pretty excited about this pup, as she is showing a lot of potential. We have also started two, coming two year old dogs on sheep. One has turned on and appears to be a natural, the other has not turned on as quickly, but is showing enough interest that we are continuing to work with her.

Matt,
I still haven't figured out why the picasa video would not upload, so I went and bought the same software that Sean uses for the dogging dvds and it worked. There is a learning curve that I am still struggling with, and hope that I can produce a better quality video next time.  I am not much for doing the tutorials, and I usually just feel my way through a program until I become proficient.

That's cool.  I always enjoy watching dogs work regardless of the task.
