I have never had a catchdog that wasn't a solid woods catchdog when I got him. I have a a dog I have been catching with in a pen and hes doing good. I know it depends on the dog, but how much of this before the first woods hunt? Thanks for your time.

If he is catching in a pen then its time to get em in the woods and get him to learn what a bay is. Its time!

How old is the dog? You don't want to take I young dog out to fast. I let my catch dogs get Over a year I do that so the dog has the weight to fight the hog with you don't want to take a little dog out ther and he can't hold a bigger hog and get cut up or killed.

He's almost a year and he's plenty big. Hes around 80 pounds right now. I am pretty sure his teeth are set to. Never had any gum bleeding or anything feel like it was loose.

I'd send him in behind a finished CD and see what he's got.
