This is what I saw when I walked outside this morning  Sad.  I knew it was cold because my pressure regulator was froze on my well and I had no water when I got up  Evil

They were saying it was going to get down to 28 but at 7:30 last night it was already 30 so I got a little worried.  Took a shower about 10:30 and I could tell the pressure was not right.  Went outside about 11 covered it up as best I could and gave the horse another flake of hay and looked it was already 26 then and then 20-21 when I went out this morning.  Horse water had about an inch of solid thick ice in it and had to break it with a shovel handle.  I like cold but mornings like this make me happy I don't live too far north.  I live in a little bottom here and I think it gets nearly 4-6 degrees colder here then just a few miles down the road in any direction.

Yeah I feed him in his barn and that is about the only time he is in there, he is a big ole wooly thing right now, not the slick looking pony I brought home but spring will be here soon enough and he will be a looker again in no time.  Ill take cooler temps and woolier horses any day!

When Zach and myself left Utopia at 2 this morning, it was 24. When I pulled into my drive at 3 here in Hondo it was 20. No froze pipes or anything tho, thank goodness.

Ha ha. We start wrapping pipes opening weekend of dove season. That way when the wells freeze at night they'll thaw the next day so we can figure out what needs wrapping or a heatlamp before the really cold stuff hits. Last year we snowed in froze solid for 4 days, but the well house and water was good.  Grin
may have spent $30/day in electricity for lamps and heaters but we had water.

Heck thats been the normal temp here in missouri for the last two months plus we've had a couple ice storms followed by 2-3" of snow. When I was flying home from houston the plane flew over, turned around and took us back to houston cause they couldnt land.Beleive me it was a big difference after workin in the 70-80 degree weather in houston and gettin here to temps in the teens.Hope it warms up a little bit before I come down there to hunt in mid-Jan. My dogs might think I lyed to em and wont hunt...LOL
