I am gonna be going to corpus christi and sinton texas for christmas, its about a 7 hr trip from here. I'm taking two of my dogs for a little hunt on some land my father-in-law works cows on. Anyone made that kind of trip and had any success with the dogs? or was they to freaked out from a ride that long? I plan on giving them a day to play around and maybe lose any stress they had from the trip.

Shawn, I have done it several times and they seem to do fine.   But I go on a 2 1/2 hour trip about 2 - 3 times a month and then sometimes will leave the dogs in the box a couple of hours after that . I dont know if that helps acclumate them or not but haven't had any problems on the long hauls.  If your only taking 2 dogs then its not to hard to stop at about halfway when you get gas and let them out of the box and relieve themselves .  I think they will be fine.

We hauled 5 dogs on a 4hour drive and took em huntin and they seemed to hunt even better than usual! Grin It took us all day to finnally catch up with em and get all the dogs caught we ended up catching 6 hogs all between 100-200 was an awesome day but the women-folk werent to happy that we missed easter dinner! Like having my own little fuzzy convict, he steals, is violent and from what I saw him doing to his teddy bear obviously sexually frustrated.

I'm just bringing one cur and one bulldog, both have found before, but I cant let the bulldog hunt on this place because of the cows.
