"Newt" getting his grub on, they were 7 wks old yesterday. They herd each other when they play it is funny to watch.

I guess I put out enough "feelers" about a started collie. We were contacted by a friend who has collies he uses on cattle, and we picked up the new guy yesterday. "Chip" is 14 months old, has been started on cattle, knows his commands, and seems to have a good, relaxed nature.   I'm going to spend a few days getting acquainted with him, then I'll put him to work and see if we can get along...

In this photo, I put him in "down" while the farrier was shoeing my horse. He was content to chill out for an hour or so, until I told him to come with me.

Only you man!  A dog most folks would give a grand for as a freeby haha. Real nice dog, look forward to seeing how he works.

Saw him work tonight, and he is gonna be wicked. He heels so low I bet he has to spit mudballs afterward. He is pretty cool. He is also still young and needs some encouragement and confidence, but I am pretty impressed. Very nice dog for sure.
Cheers
