i,ve never had deer mess with it   but i use the diesel to keep coons and crows out of mine       they'll throw a dame trap in minutes      our coons are big as half grown boar haha

White powdered donuts. I had feral hogs at the house for years and experimented heavily with what types of food they liked. White powdered donuts worked every time. They couldn't resist. I bet coons like them too.

Somewhere I went in depth posting about a several year long experiment using a pig pipe. I am pretty sure you could find the thread if you search keywords vanilla and cinnamon. Our findings were sure enough nuts. Perhaps the combination would work in your trap. I know we got tired of having to go locate the pig pipe when they ripped it off its tether.
