We were working some dogs today and had a couple a lil rougher then expected. I also worked dogs thursday. Thursday after we were done I shot the hogs up with some penicillin. Well now today it got rough and I got one hog I need to put down. Long story short if I wait the 7 day with drawl period could I still go ahead and butcher her out? are the the spots gonna be infected by then anyways? Can I feed the meat to the dogs before 7 day withdrawl period? I hate to waste hog meat but I don't want to endanger myself, family and dogs. Just stumped bout what to do. Any input would be helpful.

Wait it out an feed salty foods. A lil sweetfeed will help out to. There's sumthing in it that flushes systems out or at least that's wit I been told.

If its that chewed I would not take a risk with puttin it on the table for the wife and kids. Butcher it when done and take a look at the spots after you have yanked hide. If they are bad you will see and smell em. If ok would cube it up for dog chow. Let them pups get to have a little reward for their hard work. Good Luck. Plenty of healthy ones without this question to put on the table for the family later. Happy Hunting

I am funny about my meat, if its been a couple days I say its dog food at best....no way would I feed it to the family. You can tell the next day typically if the meat is fevered and we skin around it but I would pass if youve already waited this long.
The penicillan shouldnt have any affect on your dogs.
