I was quoted 450 to 600 hundred on a shoulder mount. We caped the hog and cut his head off and put him in a heavy duty thrash bag and put him in the freezer till we are ready to take him to the taxidermist.

Do your homework go look at some hogs that the taxidermist has done or is working on now.
When i cape one out I send the taxidermist everything including the tail for one reason you can not put hide back on once you cut it off that's it so let him decide how much hide he needs. Jmo

Its better to split them down the back than the chest. They can sew anything up but it doesn't look good. I have had 2 mounted. Paying $500 for one right now but its worth it. I don't know any taxidermists up there but the shop I use down here is run by several ladies that don't mess around. When they give youa date it will be ready on or before then.

I know I have one and Dane also has one at the same place right now.  500 for closed mouth and 550 for open mouth. But this guy is in NW louisiana.

There is a guy named Neal up in Perrin that does outstanding work as well as processing.  You can take him the hog live and he'll kill it and gut it right there for you.  Give me a call and I'll get his number for you.
