Last spring, a buddy and I caught the conditions. The gar were about to spawn, the water was flowing, and it was cloudy and cool. Shot all these and probably a dozen others that made it back in the water after we threw them on shore. All in 2.5 hours. One of those "Once in a Lifetime" kinda days! A few days later, I checked the TPWD website. The lake record was only 11 lbs. Pretty sure we smashed that one a few times over!  |
