  Folks,
I've made lots of mistakes, sometimes believing in honesty is one of them. I want you to know the whole story so bare with me:
In the fall of 2004 I purchased a catahoula from this particular man. I watched several dogs work cattle that day and chose one. He was a good one, would bay cattle all day, but had no handle to him. This I knew and finished him out myself. The man kept in touch with me all this time.
In Febuary, he calls me asking if I would trade him for a younger dog and a pup. Now this man lives some 300 miles from me so we negiotated out a trade. I would make the trip, in turn he would trade my old dog( which was still a nice cow dog) for two started dogs. The night before I was to leave I recieve a call from him. He had the flu and would be unable to show the dogs on cattle. I could r come some other time or if the dogs didn't work out he would come to Texas and either replace them or bring my old dog back. I had already had to wait til the first weekend in April to get off, this he was aware of.
So we make the trip, the dogs weren't what I was expecting a catahoula to look like but as long as they will work cattle I really didn't care. We discussed that the dogs had no handle and were near impossible to catch. He asked me to spend 21 days just work with their handle. This I did. Now we are in to the middle of may, I've been working them several times a week in the late afternoons. Giving them every opportunity to make a good dog.
I finally give up and contacted him. Nearly a month later he gets back with me. Said he would get me some more to me in July. Then he sends me another e-mail saying he can't make the deal. I waited past his 30 day guarantee, which we never discussed because of the situation. Sent him another e-mail and he will not respond.
If anyone is interested in his identity contact me with a PM. Anyone who has ever visited baydogonline and looked at the several dogs in one ad has seen his ad. It will pop out at you.

I would make a trip with the two dogs. Stake them out in his yard and call the cops because he has your dog. I would be such a pain in the @$$ he would give me the dog to leave. He probably sold the dog. But I would make sure it cost him way more than the dog would ever cost!!! It would be on like Donkey Kong! While it may not benefit you it will make the world a better place because he won't pull that again.

 Jeff,
Sorry to hear about the bad deal. I am gun shy for life buying dogs. Have had a few good dealings.

It will be all yellow from here on. Got young ones here to train, just waiting for cooler weather.

If they haven't been socialized properly as pups they will always be a pain in the rear because they will be very skitttish. It is not worht investing your time in them.

I hope it works out for you and you get your dog back. Either way you already lost in time and money on this bad deal. I just hope this fellow gets what he deserves...
