Sold a baydog yesterday that is a dang good dog, pretty sure you could win a few pen competitions with her but thats just my opinion. Well I only have smaller hogs here so they got to see her bay a few 60 pounders and she did what she was suppose to do. They get her home and she wont bay a big pig, Ive had her in the pen with a 280 pound pig and she was amazing. They said they were gonna try her out with another dog and see what she did well same story she barked a little bit but thats about it. I have never sold a dog and said it would do anything but what I know it will do, so when they called me and told me I was just suprised. Im going next wensday to buy her back from them I just dont understand why she wouldnt work. Maybe she needed more time to get to know them I just dont know, all I know is that im keeping to my word and buying her back because it is the right thing to do. Any opinions on why she wouldnt bay for them?

I'm sure its just the people but there's not much you can do other than tell them to be patient. I wouldn't worry about it. You could get a bigger hog and show them.

I have a pup and my number 2 dog that I took to a bay pen a couple of weeks ago and they absolutely would not bay. Here at the house they will light one up like no other. My number 2 dog went out the very next night on a hunt and by himself found and trailed a hog for nearly a half mile and bayed it. I think some dogs just don't like the strange pen but the woods doesn't bother them. Sucks if you want to go to any bayings though.

Seems kinda early to put her in on a hog to me. They just bought her and moved her to all new surroundings and all new people....I wouldn't bay either. Maybe they should have given her time to adjust to her new home and new owners....but I commend you on buying her back....you're doing the right thing if they don't want to give her time.

timm and gang i took one of my best little gyps to a bay and she was a baying machine at my house well i spent my money on entry fee and was gonna win it all [my first bay pen exp.] walked in the pen and she sat down beside me and did ansolutly nothin she was one of my best woods dogs to boot been on many pigs . thats why i tell everybody i sell a started dog to to take a couple of weeks just to let the dog acclimate to its new surroundings and new dogs before they hunt it or bay it . a dog thats been passed around a bunch might be ok with it but most times when a dog leaves me it's only seen about 3 people in it's hole life  good luck

Dogs are not machines. All you can do is honor your word. I would have no hard feeling as long as you honored your word. The best dog someone has may not do anything for me. It happens. I don't care how good the line as much as how much you honor your word. You are doing right.

There was no insult meant to the person that bought her, I understand that some dogs will only work for people, I was asking advice on how to get her to work better and when I said she wont be leaving my yard again I meant because I dont want to be embarressed like this again

Im not sure what your trying to say honestly what do you mean make a problem and fix it with another problem? Like I said before no insult or disrespect was meant I was asking an opinion on how to make the dog better
