Called a guy the other day to ask him about breeding his stud to my female AB. He said he requires an STD test, dog loaded up with antibiotics b4 the breeding 1 week! I'm like WTF she's never been bred and why all the antibiotic I am afraid this wouldn't be a healthy way to start her carrying the litter. Has anyone ever heard of these kind of breeding tactics? I have always dealt with ppl that just wanted to know that the dog works and isn't a pet and needed a negative brucellosis test.

negative brucellosis test is required by some breeders...it is contagious  and causes the gyp to become steril as well as the male. some say it can be cured and others say it can't. The pups will be absorbed by the female or aborted a week or 2 before they are due...

Never heard of the penicillin thing though.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
