Well, yesterday i sent out a general message about going hunting and I'm usually good at picking my spots to hunt due to allot of scouting.  Anyways I'm glad not many took me up on my offer.  Turned dogs loose went 30 yards and bayed a monster boar (YES 30 yards tops) I could have stuck him with a bow he was that close.  Got to see the bay for about 10 seconds when the CD hit.  Threw all the dogs and broke.  Long story short we had him stopped and bayed several more times in the 2 hours we ran this sucker around and turned 2 CD loose on him several more times and he just whoop up on what I've got.  No long story he just flat out beat me.  IDK but i will catch him.  For now my hat is off to this boar.  He is in the city limits so he isn't going anywhere so I'll have another chance at him.  Thanks for coming down Taylor to give an extra hand and I'm sure glad we found SOCO.  Maybe next time.

make sure you update us when you do get him...even though you didn't get him this time at least your dogs got a good workout and now you know how he runs in front of the dogs...

Thanks guys, it still sucks loosing one.  I raise the dogs i have to excersize by catching hogs and they do a wonderful job at it.  This summer time sucks.  The underbrush is just a killer on a good size runner.  They run thru it likes it's not there.

I know how you feel, I can't stand to know a big hog got away from me. It will bother me until I catch him..
Good luck next time..

3 bay and 1 CD then 3 bay and 2 cd.  That's plenty of dogs, just the under brush and hogs breaking because they have been pushed before.  I'll get him and his dad, and brother and everything else that is in there.   Wink

Thats what it is all about.  I have forgotten about a lot of hogs that I have caught, but I still remember all the ones that gave me a whoopin.  Glad none of your dogs got wrecked.

If your dogs were able to put up that good of a chase this time of year, I bet you catch him by November.  Looking forward to the pics.

Thanks man. That was true as it gets right there. I have forgotten about allot until you know a buddy that brings up this story about that good one we caught way bay when then I still remember that hot summer morning that big sucker threw dogs every which way!  Thanks man. That sure made me feel allitle better but like anyone will tell you I strive to be the best at hunting (Perfect) so it still just sticks in my crawl. You know?? Well guys I keep saying I'm going to take a break but not with this guy on the loose. Stew and Dozer better man up!  Its hot but I'm going to stay after it like I do every year. For 11 or 12 years I've been saying I was going to take the summer off and it hasn't happened yet. Smiley

Had a good time Brian, as usual. I couldn't believe that $hit. It couldn't have gone more wrong. I don't even think he was thirty yards. You forgot to mention we stopped to look at a snake and just let the dogs off the rhino and there he was haha. Bedded down the other side of the creek. It was the damnedest thing I have seen in a long time.

I think our main problem was that we were so close, when he stood up he saw us before soco got a bite, and he wasn't gonna stop once he saw us. It was quite an ordeal. I'm ready to go back myself. Glad we found soco too. I deffinatelt learned something... Make sure the damn tracking collars are fully charged, especially on the dog that don't bark (cd).

We'll get him though. Were gonna be prepared on that place from now on.

Crazy stuff right there. Next time try to bring a real dogo, not just a midget wannabe.  Wink

Complete joke.  Grin

Provide plenty of pics when you do tie him. Don't kill him, you'll regret it forever. Trust me.  Wink

I have complete respect for these animal's i assure you he won't be killed.  Doesn't matter to me if i have to care dogs out.  If he can handle my dogs then he deserves to get away.  I'll be tying him for sure.
