My lil Aerdale X Cur gyp had her first litter yesterday and she had 12 and all of them are doing good so far. I cant believe she had that many on her first litter. She is not a big dog. She is only about 45-50 lbs maybe. She seems to be a great mother to them so far from what I have seen. I guess I was wondering if anyone else has had big litters like this and what is a good feed or feed mix to feed one that has just had pups. I still cant believe she had 12 pups.

Ok thanks. I was going to get some alpo soft dog food and mix it with my Shawnee high quality 27/11 hard dog food. I need her to get more milk. It looks like she doesn't have that much. I'll put some eggs in it also for protein. Thanks for the advice

Start the Gyp on Diamond Puppy Food in the pink & purple bag. That stuff will fatten up a crack addict. Also Tractor Supply sells a
product called   SAV_A_CAF  GRADE A ULTRA 24 multi species milk replacer. 24 dollars for 8 lb. bag, black and red bag.

With a big litter I start them on the Diamond Puppy at 4 weeks.   Good Luck with the pups.

Thanks for the advise. I tried feeding her yesterday some eggs, soft dog food mixed in with her hard dog food and she won't hardly eat anything. Not sure what's wrong with her. I figured she would be starving. I'm thinking she is still stressed about having them. I hope she gets over it soon.

She might still have one in the chute which is a vet issue.

I sure hope not. I will have to keep a close eye on her. She ate all right yesterday. All 12 puppies are still alive. I  just cant believe she had that many and all of them are still living. I was hoping for about 4 or 5.lol

Dang! I couldnt imagine having 3 litters at one time. I think they will be all right. I think a couple of them are out of my 3/4 pit 1/4 dogo pup which wouldnt be a bad combination. Would make some really rough dogs thats for sure cause this lil gyp is almost all catch and when she grabs a hold she doesnt rebite. She is locked on. Im curious to see how they turn out. Thanks again for the offer.
