Long story short I left my parker/bmc gyp at my buddies for a while to breed to his plott/bmc.  She may or may not have let him breed her.  Once I brought her home I messed around and let my cane corso get to her (completely accidental) and he locked up bigger than Dallas.  All three of the dogs in this love triangle are hog crazy.  They are also all at least partially brindle, which will make it hard to tell which of the males sired the pups.   Regardless I think the pups will be bad to the bone.

Btw the hot temps really jacked up my dogs heat cycle, she never seemed to come completely in....may have to do with her old age as well.

Sounds like a good litter may be on the way.  Smiley You should be able to tell who sired which pups by the shape of their heads after a couple of months.

x2...
Once I had an airedale that I had bred to another airedale and then several days later I let a cur breed her and she had 7 airedale pups and one 1/2 airedale 1/2 cur pup.

Reuben,

What are you suggesting?

Cutter Bay Kennels,

One breeding really does not mean much for data collecting but I am thinking that the most pups should be produced from the first dog that breeds the female, assuming that he is normal in the breeding department. I also think that the more time there is between the 2 males breeding the female the higher the probablity that the first dog sires a higher percentage of the pups.JMO

From what I have read the female keeps releasing eggs throughout her heat cycle and the sperm stays alive for a few days that is if I understood that article correctly.

Like others have said DNA testing is the sure way to know.

I def won't be spending money for a DNA test.  The only testing they will undergo will be the kind to see if they will earn their keep....don't really care if they come out half poodle as long as they work! Grin

Reuben,

It is not that I totally disagree with you, but rather I would like to make a few points. All females are different. They all cycle different. Some females are average, while others cycle very fast or very slow. It is important to keep that in mind when using a specific breeding as a generalization about breeding.  That specific female may just have been slow at releasing eggs. I've seen females dump all their eggs very quick, and I doubt that a 2 day differential would have produced any from the 2nd sire depending on the time of the 1st male's breeding. Just something to keep in mind.  Smiley

You don't spend money. You call up Jerry Spinger and sound all mad. He pays for the trip, the hotel, and the DNA test. You both go on stage and you say something like, "are you calling my dog a b!tch?" Then the other dog owner says, "well she is a female dog isn't she?" Then you charge over and punch him and he punches you. Then security breaks up the fight and neither one of you has a mark on you. Then you smack talk and he charges you. that is how you get the DNA test done free Grin

I really heard some late teens talking about setting up something to get on another show for the free trip. They planned out everything. What girls what guys who was doing who and who was cheating. The whole thing was made up. So if you need some DNA test at least you are not just in it for the trip
