I got a 11 month old pit only been a 3 hogs 2 where in the woods All three were not very big 2 shoats 1 80# He did ok I guess but he seemed to re bit alot, he caught the ear And then would let go and bit the neck , ear , nose Etc. Y'all think he will learn to stay with it and latch on?? Or is he doomed?? Thanx

Sounds like he needs to mature a little bit and then be put on a bigger pig that will make him want to hold on. He is still a pup at 11 months. Wait til he is around 18 months or so.

I would wait just a bit longer then put him in with one that will fight a bit and see if he still does it

either that or put him on a chain and walk a pig in and when he latches on pull the pig away and tease him with it, then walk it back in and pull away again, the more you do it the more he will catch on harder and stay on

I had a pit like that. Caught a 220 boar one morn, dubbed his teeth and threw him in a round pen with him. It was either hold on or get whooped. After that I've needed a break stick every time. (when I put him in pen I had 2 other cd's ready incase there was trouble)

The one I had never grew out of it, bout got me hurt one time. No more re grippers for me, when they catch, they better not let go.
