Well we just got back from the neurologist's office.....he showed us the MRI scans and the results of her bloodwork......they were all fine,....nothing showed up to explain anything that she's going through. We are of course elated that she has no bulging disc, no abnormality of any kind in her spine or head. Doctor said that he had never seen a better spine....soooooo, he said that her diagnosis WAS fibromyalgia as he had first thought. He gave her a bit larger dose of Neurontin, she goes to a nerve doc next week to rule out anything in her legs that could be causing the numbness she's having.....but he seems pretty well convinced that it is Fibromyalgia. Guess we'll just have to take a day at a time and see if she can figure out what helps it and what makes it worse. I'm glad that she has no spinal problems and now we've ruled that out.....however, I know that she was hoping to find some concrete reason for all this pain and I was too to some extent....but that's not to be I reckon. So,.....please keep her in your prayers that the Lord will see fit to ease her pain and help her get back to some semblance of a normal life. We do so appreciate all of your prayers and well wishes....prayer is a powerful force and I do believe in it completely......Thank you all again so much.

Glad to hear the diagnosis. Praise the Lord...I of course will continue to send prayers. My mother has severe fibromyalgia, and I also feel as though I am experiencing some of the early symptoms. Obviously it is uncomfortable for your wife to deal with, but certain things may help her From watching my mom's experience I would recommend to your wife a GOOD supportive pair of tennis shoes to take care of her feet> I would also recommend light, relaxing exercise like yoga, walking or meditation. and most importantly circulation! My mom retired from her job early and got a job as a dog walker ( she has a true passion for animals, as do I!) Surprisingly, the more my mom walks and moves her body, the less she hurts. If none of the above offer any relief for your wife, I would recommend investing in a Tempurpedic mattress. I know they are expensive...my mom saved for QUITE some time to be able to afford one. But, I've noticed an improvement in her (she also has numbness in her hands and her legs sometimes) Even though the price tag may be high...at the end of the day you can't put a price on one's health! Keep us posted, and send love to your wife from us!

I'm with PastryGirl. I have fybromyalgia as well, and making sure she gets plenty of exercise is my key. I would also suggest making sure she stay well hydrated. Also, tell her to keep track of the days where she hurts the most, and what's going on during those days. I know for me, being a woman, I hurt the most around Day 12-16 and 25-30. Tell her that and she will know what I mean I also notice that sleeping longer than 8 hrs makes me hurt worse. I have been told that lots of Protien an Calcium will help, but have never really tried it. I've also noticed that alcohol makes it worse, so I always keep Ibuprofen close when I am gonna be drinking. Asprin does nothing for me, but I don't know about anyone else. I have to take 4 Ibuprofen, instead of just the usual 2, but my doctor told me that isn't an issue as long as I don't do it daily. I have also noticed that high rise jeans KILL me... I wore them for years, and then bough tmy first pair of ultra low rise cruel girls and realized about halfway through the day that my back hadn't hurt at all. Been wearing low rise jeans ever since and it helps tons. If y'all need any help with anything, just let us know, and I'm sure we all could help you.

Neal, glad to hear that they didn't find anything serious. I hope that they do find out what is causing her pain so that she can recover. Still praying for her.

The guy I work with has it and the weather plays a big part in his just about every time it is real humid and going to rain he hurts. This has been a good year for him he has hurt little because of no rain. He has found nothing else that seems to set it off but when he hurts he hurts from toe to tip of his head. I am sorry to hear about your wife but when they figure the right meds she will be good to go most days. Oh one other thing is dark sodas somewhat get to him. God bless and things will work out

Hey y'all, thanks for the hlp and prayers......it means a lot to us. He's still hurting, but it seems to be better on some days. She's going to a nerve Doc today to see what he thinks about the numbness and tingling. I'll let you know what she finds out.
PBR.....she has been stopped drinking Diet Coke for a few weeks now and says that she can tell a difference since she's drinking a lot more water. She has a prescip for Ambien to help her sleep and I think she's going to try that.
I sure do appreciate all that each of you has done to help her and your thoughts and prayers for her. She's a tough cookie and I think she'll get back on a track soon....it's just gonna take a bit of adjustment and some trial and error.
God bless you all for being such good folks and know that we are thankful.
