danny westbrook from the tyler area has a few of them outlaw curs. seen a few of them not a big fan. im with the fellas on the plotts, and like halfbreed said i think alot of the cur traits were bred out of the plotts. im worken with some up and comen plott/cur cross pups that i think will make the grade. i was looken for the style dog your seeking now. could`nt get my hands on them so i figured i would start from scratch. im taken the long road but i have nothen but time.

What your talking about med to long
Silent and smart rough hog stoppers with
The stamina to go 7 to 8 hours stopping
Multiples in 110 degree weather is exactly
The line of yellow dogs me and 8 of my
Buddies keep we breed within the same
Family for decades and then some would
Imagine that between us there's 80 to 100
Members of this family line the problem
I see is none of us sell dogs so for somebody
To get one just a puppy you gotta be
Superstar special and bring alot to the
Fire and even that's probably not enough
I agree with t bob

I understood exactly what t-bob meant, you ain't gonna get no cur dog like your talkin about. You must be an established well known somebody, just as in previous post to get one. Like establishing credit, you have to have credit to get credit.
A good  hound on the other hand, is much easier to come by, you just have to find someone that breeds for what suits you.
I have what your lookin for as far as a hound goes, tight line bred, fast, run to catch and rough. But don't have any for sale right now, BUT.....if I had an extra, I wouldn't mind selling one.
Halfbreed pretty much nailed it, I don't want no blood hound, or black and tan lookin plotts.
If they're ears touch at the end of they're nose....they're too long.

Chris, I went to westbrooks this past weekend... which dogs is it that are outlaw curs??  He should us what he called Goodman hounds but didnt mention anything about outlaw curs....

Buddylee,   could you explain your post about seeing a full outlaw cur??? What would be different between what Chris saw and an actual outlaw cur??  And isnt a outlaw cur a crossed up dogs anyways??

I hope I didn't come off as rude. The outlaw cur I'm referring to is bred by Randy Dominy in central Georgia. There very well may be someone else calling their dogs outlaw curs too. The dogs I'm referring to get out and hunt. A 1000 acre track is too small for them. Seen them go a 1000 yards within minutes and bay a hog. Seen them get cut down and still keep a hog bayed. Extreme drive.

I live about 15 minutes from the man who breed this line up. I have heard some were good. I have hunted with three of them and wouldn't have taken any of them if they were offered to me. They are a little bit of everything. They have some hound in them, plott and walker for sure.

buddylee,

this is an old post you had about outlaw curs...  Were these culls from Randys yard, or were those guys just calling their dogs outlaw curs??

trent, danny and man from quitman breed and hunt what they call an outlaw cur from georgia. so im gonna say my chances of seeing what they call an outlaw cur hunted was pretty good!!! with that being said the dogs i seen came from danny`s yard and that`s what the fella said they were and where they came from.

They hunt to far for me. I had one. Sold to a friend. I prefer closer hunting dogs.

Not that it really matters but for sake of conversation, Randy said he last sold Outlaw curs to anyone in Texas back in the 90's. They may be some dogs with Outlaw cur in them but I highly doubt there are any pure Outlaws there.

We've had good luck with our line. 3 generations so far n still going. They r all crossed up. Running Walker/curr/AB/Plott.  We generally keep whole litter with exception of few friends who get one. I'll post pics as soon as I take some.
