We raise several show pigs at my moms house. Last night I come in about 11:30 an there is a coyote about 40 yards from our pig barn.. I run it off with the truck. Tonight we are sitting in the living room an here one yipping about 40 yards from the house so I went out an fired off a round at him...

So here is my question is there anything that we can put around the barn or do to keep them away besides getting up every hour to check on them?? Radio for noise??? Scarecrow?? Lol?? Any ideas would be nice??

Consistent lead poisoning has always been my favorite method of Coyote control.

I would say a radio and plenty of human scent leave some shirts out there or something a scarecrow might work lol

In the middle east they raise some big ass "asian shepherd" dogs with the roaming sheep herds to protect them from the wolves...

I'd imagine a good rough cur dog on the loose, trained to the same task couldn't hurt.... or plenty of hot wire...

If you have a Barr hog with any size to him, you'll not only not have a coyote problem, but the only coyote you may see, was one dumb enough to become hog poo.

the human scent thing is funny . wont work yotes are so used to it it's just another scent they smell every day . why you think they come around farm houses and  walk rite into your yard to get what they can . to a yote human scent = easy pickins and also meens easy shots useing a red lens at night . one of my catahoula gyps that i broke off of every thing but critters and yotes running loose works the best but she is getting old now and i need to learn me another dog to help her out .

I don't know if it's the same one or not but I ran him off three times last night.. Twice I shot at him... But the pesky son of a gun kept comin back!! Never would cross our fence so I couldn't get a good shot on him..put a radio and a feed sack on a stick to try an keep him away... Gonna get a security light today that is motion censored to see of that works...

Keep your dogs away from it but mole bait in some hamburger will take care of him.
