What are some of the names of old lion hunters and the breeds they used? Who's still breeding good dry land stock?

Train your dogs on cats first. Once they are really well started then do hogs with them. It has been my expereince that this is way makes better cat and hog dogs, than doing hogs first and cats later.

A lot of guys up north, west and east use American leopard curs. Some guys here in Texas are using walkers, blue dogs and red dogs. I have leopards. Just hunting coons with them now. I have a buddy in Poteet tx that is going to run them on cats and lions. A few have tried leps on hogs. Some do good and some don't. I like what I got, but I only hunt coons. You can also look up Mike Toth at bearmtnguideservice.webs.com or look at the "proboard" it's all about leopard dogs and breeds and pictures.

Mexicanjoe is his handle, treeingratterrier on this site, do you have bobcat dogs or do you have a large enuff ranch to hunt bobcats on, how about lions, are you in a lion area or just wanting to get a pack or go hunting with somebody who does?? I saw you are from Greenville, thats not cat or lion country unless there is a greenville in another state besides texas?? You not going to buy straight cat dogs in texas, you have to have a big 40k south texas brush ranch or be working on one with tons of them and go hunting with somebody who does and there are few few who still even have straight cat dogs or land enuff to hunt them on, you might get lucky and buy somebodys pack who is quitting but dont hold your breath.
