Hey guys, I have a buddy that recently got a pup, he was fine at first, and still acts like nothing is wrong. But his back legs are sorta bow legged, as if his hips and knee area don't bend, he also has a front paw that kinda curves in and he walks on the side of it. He's had this pup since it was about 5 weeks old and has had it for about 2 weeks, and just a couple days ago is when he noticed it and asked for me to help. I checked and nothins broke and everything bends and works fine and it doesn't seem to hurt him either. Anyone experienced this or have any ideas what it can be or what to try.. Thanks

i don't know what causes it but my wife's little brother had a small mixed dog and his front legs bowed out and he was walking on the outsides of his front paws.  i thought he got ran over or someone stepped on him.  i gave him a week and a half to see if it got better.  well his legs straightened out and he walks fine now, it's been about 3 weeks i guess since it first started.  he walked like that for almost a week and then all the sudden it went back to normal.

Huh?  not saying this is the same but it sound a lot alike.  damndest thing i've ever seen.

I was thinkin the same but wanted to get some input from some of yall that may have seen it, I've got the pup right now so I can keep an eye on him, his wife is really upset about it so he asked me to look after him for now so she don't have to see him...She is a drama queen but I understand. Thanks guys for all yalls input, I'll let him know that its not hopeless yet and we just need to give him a lil time.. Thanks again everyone....Alan

Seen a pup like that and he was being fed diamond dog food.  Might want to try switching food.

Buddy my male ab had feet that would turn inwards when he was about 2 months old. I was told by a vet it was from to much protien, I just cut his food back some and watched his weight, he turned out fine.

Have this problem with a lot of pups when they are growing too fast.  Cut down on the protine and let them develope at a normal rate and it goes away.

hey wild, the best and least expensive thing u can do is hydro therapy, let the pup swim in a pool, and u can supplament it with over the counter gluclosamene pills at wal-mart, just like u and i would take, helps joints, ligaments, ect.
