Last night we got an early start headed out to Mc Coy this high fence we have been to some thinning up some. Dumped the dogs at dark hit a pretty good pack at about 9 the bay dogs killed a little one. We got the dogs to water right after and went to another spot roaded about 30 minutes and hit a little sow that we have a picture of. Killed it loaded and headed home. We decided to make a quick stop at a place that backs up the river saw a big boar cross the road cut loose had a good bay about a 100 yards away dumped the catchdogs one hit and it broke. We waited a good 20 minutes and they bayed up again. We were hoping it was not to the river just yet. I think it was a good mile away. The only problem is i took off the tracking sytem thinking we were done. We got there finally it took a good 20 minutes. Got there sure enough it was in the river. Only one catchdog made it. I thought she was done i when i saw her on the other side of the river just completley tworn out. We sat there watching these three baydogs bay this hog for a good 30 minutes. I shined my light where my catchdog had been and she was gone. A minute later she was on top of the river bottom coming down to this hog she jumped in and fought it and it just kept swimming out and she would get thrown off. Finally this hog made a wrong mistake and came to this side of the river and stood in about of foot of water. My catchdog made on last hit and the bay dogs caught on with her and it was over with. This hog weighed about 180 good solid boar. But it was not the one we turned loose on. I guess when he broke to the river they lost it and hit this one. It was a long night. When we were on the way back to the truck the other catch dogs showed up. Only my catch dog got cut it ripped her ear completly in half. Hope she will be ready not too long from now.
