Got these uploaded from my phone.......

Bayed this boar a few weeks ago I was hunting solo with Paris and Newt.

I snapped these photos on a recent hunt.  Just dog pics, I did not get the hogs for some reason.  We got into some hogs and dang me if the piglet catching did'nt commence.  5 in all......I was getting pretty irritated that the dogs were targeting piglets.  We moved to a different area and Newt struck a group of hogs.  The pig catching, bay busting culpret was no longer in the hunt so they bayed pretty and I shot a sow.  The hogs busted at that and went through a group of cattle which knocked Newt off the track but Paris has been there.... dont that.  She didn't let a couple hundred stampeding yearlins stand in her way.  I followed up, and it did'nt seem like she was gonna get anything shut down again but on my way to her Newt struck a boar about 300 yards out and she came back to his bay.  I got there and shot the boar.  Newt got a few pokes and got his foot bit which skinned the hide off a few of his toes and put him out of comission for a week.

Newt and Paris

Caught and tied this boar in these rocks on a bluff in the Brazos Bottom.  I did'nt have any dogs on this hunt.  The boar had a 200+ lb frame but was very poor for some reason.  He only weighed 145 lbs at the hog buyer.

Got this Washington County boar on Wednesday.

Paris struck him behind a tank dam and he did not stick around.  The dogs ran him about 3/4 mile and bayed.  He had a bad attitude was hunting down dogs, wanted to put a hurtin on them.  Thankfully both his cutters were broke off.  He spotted me quick when I got close and came at me, but I adjusted his attitude.  We moved to a different place and Paris struck again on a group.  I left Newt in the box so dad could hunt a young dog of his.  When the young dogs got to Paris they had hogs running everywhere and we came up empty.  Paris rolled out again and came bayed on a few sows.  One of the young dogs joined her..I shot a sow when I got there.  She rolled again on one of the other sows and bayed a good way out.  Got there and another sow down.

I dont know you or have a clue where you are even located but im almost positive that ive seen multiple pics of your dog newt in recent months on this site and have enjoyed watchin his progression. Feel likes he is one of my buddies dogs yet ive never even seen him in real life. I had a lacy/curr that looked identical to him a few years back. He's a fime lookin pup.

Thanks, I have not been this excited about a young dog in a very long time.  He is turning out nicely for still being such a young dog at 16 months old.  He's showing me a good strong working drive, and plenty of hunt and bottom.  I like his independance, and he is built right with plenty of leg and wind.  Although he is a little bit to big for what I prefer, which takes away from his agility and could cause him to wear out faster and shorten his hunting career.  But, if that turns out to be his worst problem then I cannot complain.  He's been finding lots of hogs for me and getting better at hunting more effeciently and looping back in when he comes up empty.  I really don't like a dog that hunts randomly in any direction they feel like.  I want one that hunts with me, so its good that he's getting better at that  I was worried for a while that he might be a little bit too agressive when working hogs and lack in finesse,  and it is very important to me for a dog to have finesse.  He busted quite a few bays in the beginning and I will not tolerate a bay buster.  Although now he is starting to show me some finesse which is evident that he's getting groups bayed without busting them.  It helps that I have Paris to start him behind, as she is very loose baying/finesse type dog and he's seeming to copy-cat her style for the most part which is good because he will most likely get grittier as he gets older as most dogs do.  He and Paris on thier own, hunt out what I would call Med. range, but they will really roll deep when they are together.  Too deep really and farther than what I prefer, but its nice to know that I can put them on the ground together and get some range out of them if I'm hunting a place where the hogs are scarce, or I can keep one snapped up which will keep the other in closer.  I can't take any credit for this pup, though, other than a little guidance and putting him on plenty of hogs.  He was started 100% in the woods and it's come natural, which is how it should be.  The credit goes to the old timers that made these Cur dogs what they are.  I just hope I can preserve some of it and like I said this pup makes me excited to be able to do that.

Yeah I still have him.  He's my "cow dog" now days, but he will still bark at a hog Smiley.  I just don't use him on hogs very often anymore.
