Chapter 5:  Ding Ding

So... I make my way to the ring, slide in... hop up... and manage to give my wife and friends a wink(they were in complete shock at this point... which actually made me laugh a little HAHA  Grin)...  just as the lights dim... cue music, fog, lasers.... yeah... the announcer goes "noah vs. MR OLYIMPIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ..... "touch gloves, and knock each other's heads off..."  Shocked Grin

... we eased towards each other to the center of the ring... He, wisely, meant to "feel me out" as my stature and "attire" surely had him a bit confused lol...  Grin    I, sheepishly, reached out with a couple limp left jabs(I don't jab well BTW  Grin).... and man, this sucker jumped back like he was expecting a bomb.... SO I GAVE HIM ONE!!!!  Wink Grin

Disclaimer:  As a side note, I was COMPLETELY untrained in the skills of formal boxing at this point.... what I WAS good at, was brawling however...

.... so... once I saw him back up, I went in for the kill... I, basically, shoved him all the way to the corner... at which point I let loose with all I had.     When he tried to get out, I shoved him back in and kept pounding...  I hit him so hard, even through the pillow gloves, I could feel my knuckles bruising and feared I might break my hand again.

... all the while, he just took it.  Shocked

... I worked on his ribs, then I worked on his head... but he just kept covered up and took it.... the crowd was going f$cking wild at this point...  Grin

... I remember him occasionally "peaking" from between his gloves occasionally to look at me.... I also remember saying to myself... "the next time he opens his gloves to peak at me, I'm gonna uppercut his ass right out of the ring...."

... at that moment, his guard parted... I saw him look at me from between.... as I wound up for that "almighty kill shot" ....

DING!!!!!!

That son of a bitch hit me so hard, so fast on the left side of my face....   it INSTANTLY knocked BOTH contact lenses out of my eyes(never box with contacts  Wink Cheesy)... that hit also, INSTANTLY closed my left eye and left me seeing stars.... I knew well this feeling and it was not good  Grin

... the "tha-thump-tha-thump-tha-thump" sound I heard at this point was his gloves on my face lol.... he beat my ass from one corner all the way to the other before I finally managed to grab aholt of his ass to stop the malay!!!  Grin

.... ref broke us apart and we came out swinging... but I could not see a thing at this point as he'd closed my other eye HAHA(crazy how fast an eye can close  Grin)....

... We brawled for another minute before he landed that same big right and I heard the birdies chirpin' I got to tell ya HAHAHA  Grin   Ref saw me wobbling and broke us up as I "felt" my way back to my friends...

Without gloves... woulda been a different story.... but that was the day I finally realized that boxing is a skill that one cannot "wing".... no matter how tough you think you are  Wink Grin

Noah I love reading your stories. Mostly because they crack me up. But also because they bring up memories from my past.

 Keep'em coming!
