I am a several generation (don't know exactly how many) generation 'Cracker' but my grandparents that had anything to do with cattle are gone. As a child we were lucky enough to grow up riding horses, working cow cows and enjoying nature in it's purest....something that sadly Rafe won't get to enjoy at its fullest as it is such a hard thing to hold onto these days.

Today, I went to Stuart to let Ms. Whit tame my hair and her Grandma Mrs. Wall came in....she read a book she had written about her growing up to my son while she waited for her hair to dry, he loved the story but doesn't realize just how special the moment really was....I got a warm and fuzzy feeling / kinda teary eyed watching her and listening to some of her stories....something I will really cherish and hope to listen to many many more in the future.

Then a few hogs we caught Tuesday night.

The history behind the lifestyle is being lost everyday.  You're son will appreciate that rare moment in a few years.

Nice hogs.

nice hogs and story. It is great to see people keeping hog hunting a family sport and a way of life. Some of My best memories in the woods involve my kids and Wife.

I love sitting around and listening to stories from the old cow hunters.  I think I was born 100 years to late.
