Do slugs like dog food or something I just went outside and 15 to 20 slugs were in the dog food. Box I quickly ran inside and got the salt Andre killed them all. I close the box pretty good but they keep finding there way in. Idk

I keep my dog food in an aluminum trash can with a lid, it holds 100lbs and its the only thing ive found that the bugs and rodents out of it, ive had zero problems since i switched, may be a good alternative to what you are using.

If its just slugs i would just lay a good salt ring around the container and that should solve the problem.

I have the metal trash can and the only problem I had was water getting in by the handle on the lid. I got some of that spray plasti-dip and sprayed the inside and out a couple of light coats and no water gets in now.

I use plastic 55gal barrels n hav no issues. I hav not seen slug around me, but as kid, the slugs would congregate near the food bowls.

I got a metal cotton picker spindle grease barrel. Works great and no bugs or slugs.
