Mike and i went for a short and sweet lil hunt tonight and caught this little pig 200 yards from the truck and maybe five minutes into the hunt. I am pretty sure mikes copper pup or my new chrissy pup struck them, that is always good to see the young dogs doing it. They hit a pretty good group i am guessing because we had dogs scattered in all directions and at one point every dog on the ground was 1.5+ miles away from us. The best part about this hunt was the awesome weather it was nice and cool for a change. We wound up calling all the dogs off their races after a couple hours to get home a decent hour. It aint a monster but a pig is a pig i guess.

The dogs are banged up pretty good but should be fine in a few months. We used the winch on the ranger to get the massive beast hoisted on to that huge log. And about the backstraps... I got both them lil suckers stuck in my teeth. Wink

Big hogs are fun to catch, but if you get on a running hog about 80-100 lbs, get ready to have your dogs bottom tested. That's when you know you got yourself a dog after one of them hard races!

They're a year to a year and a half old. Once they start baying bigger hogs, their value will increase drastically. Wink

For a second I was thinking ya'll had the pups you got from JP out there in the big woods with the big dogs. How old are those pups now? and how are they doing?
