Hey do yall knwo how to get a hold of that fella that makes the " Florida Cracker" Bull whips? I have an older one and need a new one. OR does anyone know of a better whip? I have a braided nylon thats weighted, but its a bit long and a tad heavy for my short self.... LOL!

I always used the nylon ones from BigBend saddlery.
Had a good handmade rawhide one, and my horse stepped on it and pulled it in half. Embarrassed
The nylon always lasted a whole lot longer, and had a good feel to me.

my grandma s got one that was my great granddaddys , probably made around 1900 . when i was a kid my dad used to take it down and pop it every once in a while ... till it broke , and it hasnt been uncoiled since . she also has his old branding iron wich she has kept registered all these years . if yall run across any real old cows around dunnellon - ocala area with a diamond j brand please tie em down for me . lmao

       ill see if my wife will put some pics up of them .

Clarence Hale from South FL. makes a nice one.  I'm getting his number and will post it when I get it.  This is a 12' he made.

That just looks like a corral snake.  However, don't worry, I think is actually a king snake.  If it bites you, you won't die.  At least I think that's the truth.

That aint the fella im talking about. I could be wrong on the name. these whips are made out of waxed nylon and hand turned handles. Thanks for the help tho.

That looks like the ones he made, but fancier. Thats a neat looking whip, just too long for me! LOL!

My guy said to just buy one pre-made, there's a saddle maker in Ocala that makes them for $12/ft.  Jonnie Ruff I believe.

I love whips I have a women right here by me who builds some of the best I use a 7' with a long handle helps keep it away from your horse my arms are to short to pop a 12 footer thats like throwing a 60 foot rope ain"t got enough arm I'll just ride a faster horse 35' plenty long enough for me!

thats what im wanting is a 6 or 7' with a  long handle. I have an 8' right now, but its weighted a bit much and wears my arm out to quick.

cward we have the same philosphy when it comes ropes and whips for sure! LOL!

When I first started Cow Hunting they made me leave my rope at the truck.....I took my 10' cow whip and two Florida Curs....LOL After they seen I could handle myself I was able to carry my rope.....I am a hand with a 10 footer....got lots of practice on those tiger striped F1's...... Grin
