CLEAN UP YOUR HOGS AND DOGS AND WATCH WHAT YOU POST GUY'S. I'M AT WORK AND JUST LOOKING AROUND ON THE NET AND THIS IS WHAT I CAME ACROSS.

We’ve banned bull baiting and dog fighting, yet we still allow feral hog hunting with dogs. Why is this?

I don’t get how people find this typing of hunting fun and, or enjoyable.

Hog dogging, hawg dawgin’, hog baiting, hog dog: They’re all terms for a bloodsport known as hog dog fighting. Ten states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Texas.

Hog dog fighting stems from hog hunting, a still-legal pastime in which hunters use dogs to find, chase, corner, and sometimes catch the hogs. Because feral hogs are considered a nuisance in rural areas, locals still take pleasure in "taking down" a hog. Farmers charge that hogs trample native plants, create competition among other wildlife for food, and invade farmers' crops. In many states, there are no limits on hunting, and hogs may be killed at any time of year, by any means.

When hunting feral hogs, dogs fall generally into two camps: "bay" dogs who only corner the hog, and "catch" dogs who actually clamp onto the feral hogs with their jaws. The latter dogs present a danger not only to the hog, but also to themselves, since the hog still has his powerful tusks.

"It's just another form of staged animal fighting that belongs in the same category as dogfighting and cockfighting, both of which are illegal in most of these states.

AND THE TAG ALONGS

1   How is this still legal?

2   Well, I am not that sort of redneck hawg hunter, but what I have heard tell of is 'hog baying.'
Why on earth would you want to risk your important dog's life by letting it catch the hog? That makes no sense

AND IT WAS MORE.

They'll keep using propaganda and exaggerations untill we lose the sport and the sad part is the incriminating photos all over the web that are put there by hog doggers.

They never mention how we spends hundreds of dollars on protection for our "important dogs". Or how we buy tracking collars for our dogs. Hell we treat our dogs better then some people treat household pets. These articles really get under my skin

You can't make a dog hunt. f they let people beat each other unconcious for money why is it so hard to think that this is what the dogs want to do. I wanted my oldest son to play football but he is in band. I could not make hime play football and I can't make a dog go after a pig. I am now a band booster and hope my younger son wants to play football. Well it is the same with the dogs. Some wnat to hnt and others do not. I had a dog running with all the others. Got to the bay and could not find her. Got back to the truck and she was resting under the truck. I just found her a home that wanted a pet. I guess they don't want to talk about that. I guess tolerance is something they want for themselves but don't want to give to others.

Guys(and Gals) reguardless of how we feel about our hunting with dogs. You need to understand that the ones attacking our sport have more money and resources to fight against us than we can muster to fight for. We do need to watch what we do and say. Alot of other hunters are even against us. No matter how well we defend our actions its how we are taken as a whole that will matter in the end. What really gets under my skin is how many other hunters are against us not realizing that if we are beaten they will be on the attack list next.

They've been on the move for a long while. That's why people on here stress the stories and pics that people post... We need more TDHA members. Numbers speak loud when it comes to the nut busting!

they should talk to all the people that have been put back in there house by a wild pig in there front yard or the people who have been attacked by them, in a non hunting atmosphere they wouldnt let cock roaches stay in there house withouth putting out a bomb to kill em all and nine times out of ten they dont mind stuffing a pork tenderloin in there mouth or that more than half the guys that do this feed people all year that dont have enough so they would just be hurting the hunters but they would be hurting the hungry the economy and the natural balance of things so in my opinion anybody thats willing to take food out of fellow bretherns mouth is a cock roach ill get off my high horse but those people rill me up what do they think there ancestors did to eat

You know I took an Anthropology class in college. They talked about how all these cultures should be protected from outside change. Well hunting with dogs started with the first people. I saw a documentary that said the reason neanderthals did not make it and people did even though the neanderthals were physically superior was because humans used dogs. I think some Agg majors should shift to Anthropology Grin Make dog hunters a protected minority Grin

I was profiled by the police because I had a dog box in my truck... Make it so when a tree hugger gives us a hard time it is a hate crime Grin Now that would be a real hate crime. Never met people with so much hate as a tree hugger. I really feel sorry for them. For real, no smiley.
