Many of you know that horses rely on their feet to get them away from trouble and that they are most vulnerable when they are lying down, hence why most don't do it very often, or when they are by themselves in an open place. Tonight while I was outside with my 2 yr old filly, she literally laid down at my feet, stretched out on her side and literally started snoring. It is truly a humbling moment when I realized that she trusted me enough to catch a nap while I stood watch. She and I have been spending a lot of time traveling together between my house and A&M for an injury that she has that resulted in 2 surgeries in 24 hours, and I have to admit that I haven't had a true relationship with an animal like the one that we have developed in the last 2 weeks.

Grace is the same way at time. Water scares her. She will get in it, but immediatly swims to wherever I am, and lets me hold her. As soon as she is in my arms, she completely stops paddling. It humbles me that she knows I won't let her drown. Just ask TWillbanks about the hunt at the river. Talk about a paniced Mom. LOL

So what about y'all? When have you been truly humbled about the trust an animal puts in your hands?
