i have a few game wardens that are very good friends of mine in my area. A few weeks ago there was a contest ran close to us. After the contest many of the hunters drove off a few miles and dumped there pigs. So far one of those guys who won some money has been in jail and is facing a huge fine. In that this person is trying to blame the contest runner in that the hunter gave them the pig and they told him to get rid of it. Another wards trying to blame the people running the contest.
I suggest in your rules you clearly state that the pigs being turned in for contest are not the property of you or your hunt. This last weekend warden were patroling the weigh in of another hunt and the person running that hunt told me they had already warned him.
Contest are getting more popular and with that comes more attention. The wardens in our area brought down extra help to be around to patrol for illegal dog hunters. We as hunters need to be smarter about what we do with these hogs and people running these contest need to be sure and protect yourself.
I would think get a can of orange spay paint and put a number on every hog brought in to tie back to the team so that it deters guys from dumping on a county or state road. I just wanted to pass this on as hopefully helpful info.

One picture of a pile of hogs ended up on the www. It was in south Texas. Five hogs all gutted. Spray paint might help. Mark team number on all hogs. If they end up on the side of the road....... the wardens can track them down. Litter is charged by the pound.

yes sir sorry i should have specified too. It is my understanding it is not a federal deal its a state or county deal and a game warden doesnt actually write that tickets but can be a witness for prosecustion. Because hogs are not considered a game animal... That is my understanding anyways. i could be way wrong. Someone who does have a good understanding of this please specify. I do think your exactly right though Cantexduck about it being a littering fine.
