I am probably a stranger to you all, I have posted before, not much but I read everyday. Anyhow the thread about refusing to drive tonight stuck out to me pretty big. I'm 25 yrs old. My phone rang off the hook tonight with invites from buddies to come out partying and drinking. Before I tell you about my night let me be honest and tell you im the first guy to say alright here I come. I'm usually that guy, the one that falls in the fire and everyone laughs. I don't know where it came from but tonight I say back and said what if... What if , I caused anything that could happen from drinking and driving. Not trying to become a saint by posting this, just sharing a change in paste in my life, hope I feel the same way from here on out. Glad everyone had a fun time tonight and will be here tomorrow to tell us about it.......  Good luck huntin Buford

Yep I understand I am 28 and lost most interest in drunks and partying at about 23. Funny thing is I miss it but don't like it no more had lots of fun in my younger days.  Never drank and drove but did plenty of other stuff that was not real bright.

I at one time was all good for a party. If I got a phone call and someone said lets go party anywhere I was all for it. This stopped some time ago. Everybody has to grow up at some point. I still enjoy a good celebration but I don't partake in the cold drinks near as much. In all honesty I can enjoy a good hunt every bit as much as I did a good party. I don't get in near as much trouble like that. Priorities change and so do people.

Plus this is the night that has all the police out. Yellowblackmask I hear you. I am just too ornery to quit living. But I do choose my fights but I mostly pick the wrong fight and she wins Grin

I had to work last night and when my partner and I started doing bar checks we realized no one was really out. The one bar that had people in it had paid for DD's to drive people. I think the general census for everyone was to stay home away from the crazies. It's been a crazy few weeks with the whole end of the world thing and the "OMG, they're going to take our guns away" (which will never happen) stuff.

i used to do a lot of drinking till i was 30. i lived across the street from a college guy and just down the road from K-state. early in 2009 till aug 09 it was an every wkend deal, going through a couple 18pks ea per night. in aug deer seaon was rolling around and i ahd a sit down with myself and ask which would provide nutrients longer, beer or deer?. i chose the deer, i stoped cold turkey, needed money for re-strining my bow, new arrows, broadheads, extra diesel, corn, a feeder and c-mere deer. i took 14 deer in 09-10 season. i have had a total of 4 beers since then and do not care to pick it up gain. i also noticed that my drikning was fixing to get me in trouble with the military so between hunting and my career, so im glad i dont have that problem or the money out go for it any more.
