I picked up a catahoula gyp puppy that may be deaf I was wondering what y'all's opinion was on breeding her is it a good ideal or not

Deafness is a trait that should be culled for...you breed for hunting ability not looks or color, and that's all you can see out of a puppy.

In my opinion we should never breed a deaf dog for any reason. I don't like much white at all in my Catahoula's, to much white and you will get some hearing and vision issues.

I'm not a top notch breeder but in my opinion a man should never breed a dog that has undesired traits. I have a black lab gyp that I bought out of a good line. I got her mainly because I wanted a certain type dog to breed my male to. She has skin issues. She hunts good minds well and don't quit. The skin issue is not something I want to pass on so I have decided its back to the drawing board.
