Sorry, don't know what happened to my original post of this.
Some of the haul.

Load of dogs.

Belle and Abby are about busted.

Pretty bluefish hog.
We wound up with 12 for the day, 3 of which were pigs the dogs caught and killed. Had a fine day today, dogs were kinda sign but they did good anyway. This place was full of hogs and we had a fine day of it. No dogs hurt and all accounted for. These hogs do run and are not shy about it either. Got one decent boar hog and several in the 1/0 to 150 lb. range. Got all cleaned and divided up. We cleaned the 13 from the first two days yesterday afternoon in just under an hour..... We may get the hang of this yet.... lol I'm about to head to bed and head out for home in the morning. 25 for this trip ain't too bad. We were really blessed with a good hunt.

Things have finally gotten somewhat back to normal down in GA. Farmers are back to peanuts instead of cotton.....thank goodness! Ain't much for a hog to eat in a dad-blame cotton field. One of the landowners that we hunt with had been watching a bunch of hogs for a few weeks but they began to drift apart right before we got there so we didn't get into them like we wanted.

It rained on us most of the day Thursday but it was just a light rain and didn't get too bad. Turned cold and the wind got so bad that we couldn't hear a dog more than a 100 yards maybe....so we dogged it off early and hauled the hogs to the cooler. The rain the night before did us no favors since I think the hogs moved early right after dark and had bedded up way before daylight......dogs could smell hog but it was hard for them to do anything with it. We finally scratched out 6 from a small area and I was happy to get them.

Friday we hunted the group our buddy had been watching for awhile....finally found some at the end of a big lake, was a sow and some pigs apparently,....dogs jumped 'em up and the sow left out while a pig or 2 stayed there running in circles with one of Cletis' dogs after it. Belle and Abby both went with the sow along with Randy's dogs and one of Cletis'. I don't know if she tried to swim the lake or they fell off into it while fighting her, but they wound up in the drink anyway. Finally got her dispatched and the dogs out of the pond,....water was straddle deep on Brent, he ran ahead of me and bailed in.....haha Got the sow drug out and loaded and moved to another spot. We got 2 pretty good hogs busted out of this patch of woods and the dogs caught them in the field. Tried another spot but no luck, so we decided to go clean some hogs while we had a chance.
We had 7 for Friday which made 13 in all so far. We ganged up on them and got 'em skinned and cut up in just under an hour....this goes fast when you have plenty of help.

Sat. was a glorious day to hog hunt....big frost that morning but stayed cool all day. We had a race going within a few minutes of getting to the honey hole place....this is a 1,200 acre tract on the river that I love to hunt.....no pavement or houses anywhere near it. We ran hogs all day and caught some as well. Standers did really good this trip they killed several hogs crossing the roads in here. Belle, Abby and another of Cletis' Plotts ran 4 or 5 hogs over Jarvis and he killed 3 I think out of the group......the boy was on his game this day. Dogs killed about 3 pigs that they caught that I know of. It was a fine day and we killed the most off this place that we ever have in one day of hunting. My dogs weren't in as good of a shape as my buddies dogs and they played out by early afternoon, but I can't blame them, they had been running or baying a hogs just about all day. When we tallied up we had 12 down for the day.....best day we've had in a year or so.

Jim, I don't feel all that old until about the 6 mile mark and then it begins to pull on me....Mark, good to hear from you buddy, I don't get on here as much as I used to either,.....but now that I'm retired.....I plan to hunt a WHOLE lot more than before......might even get down your way sometime!!! Thanks y'all for the kind words,....it was a good hunt no doubt.
