i know a guy that bought a dog from Texas for 2 grand and he shot it 2 weeks later. Would not leave your feet. He had a trial on the dog but the guy would never answer or return his phone calls.

I tried alot off here got trials with all and carried most back. Finally did find a good one off here but it did take a long time for the dog to trust and start hunting well for me. I thnk alot of ppl have gone thru this and i really do believe u have to put alot of time in with your dogs and they have to trust you to do well.  I do believe that is the main reason why its hard to sell dogs for honest ppl. The dog is not going to just go hunt for you like it did for someone that has put the time in with the dog. Best way is to go hunt with them and if you like the dog then start putn the time in with the dog and just be patient. My lead dog took about 2 yrs to trust me good and she has really turned it on lately. Other than that train your own dogs from puppies there are way too many peddlers out there. And oh yeh i did git screwed out of 300 one time from a guy in south texas. He signed an agreement and all but changed his phone number and all his info was a lie. That was learning the hard way for me so never again will i pay for a "hog dog" but that just me and my experience. Im sure ppl have had good trades and some dogs may hunt the same for someone  else right off the bat but ive never had the pleasure of buying one like that. Most of the ones i tried off this site were better deer dogs than most of the walkers i have hunted with:P Shocked. I am very stubborn and hardheaded tho so i did learn the hardway. The best advice i can give if a person must buy a dog from someone off here is to go hunt with them and see how the dogs works. Screw a trial or anyones word you do not know! Anyways thats jmo

i had a post titled from a to z. ....it was just a few experiences.... truth is it's not just the forum, its not just contractors, its not any one particular group of people (except lawyers and politicians). people are funny when it comes to money. I maybe think it makes a person feel good to get over somebody. like a insecurity thing. jmo

Traded a really good lead cowdog for two started dogs, as a favor to a guy in Mena, Ark. I even drove there. Those 2 never made it out of the pasture.

300$ for a bluetick/walker cross gyp years ago.after drivin 45miles 1 way chasin her for 5days days i finally gave her to Jesus, i owned her for almost 2months before i toted her the first and last time, she wouldnt even growl at a hog in the pen but i toted her anyway. hated to do it but she didnt hunt worth a dang, like at all! And i wanted the 250$ that was around her neck back! Wasnt her fault, i got lied to and tried everything imaginable to catch her with no luck, it was a loose loose, she was 20 miles from anywhere and in some rough big gator country. Live and learn.

Buy pups and raise em how you want em. To much money for a broke joke like me to invest in a started dog just to find out its a cull.

Paid $250 for a bluetick gyp, done good, until she rode the front of a big sow into a pine tree. Spun her for a couple loops in the air and when her feet finally hit the dirt, she had narrow bit of intrest in another hog.

Hogs gruntin less thatn 50yds from us with 2 other dogs, all 3 ran in and she come back and sat at my feet.

Finally had to give her away, papers an all.
