I had slime in a wheeler tire. I noticed the tire low, i took it off to inspect the cut on the side wall and to air it again. The cut wasnt producing bubbles, so no air leakin there. I did notice bubbles around the bead. I dis mounted it and cleaned the rim up to inspect in the mornin and cleaned out the tire. As i cleaned out the tire, there was a bunch of dingle berry balls that felt like there was fur, nylon cord or some kinda cordage. Has any1 ran into the balls, is it the slime braking the tire down n eatn the nylon cordage? Does the slime ball up to help seal a puncture?

Idk on your question but slime never worked too great for us. We got some orange/red stuff from the tire shop that works a lot better. We are on the wheelers daily at work and flats just dont cut it lol

Iv got some kinda stuff in my tractor tires from the tire shop that worked when i put a t-post through the tire, but my concern is slime, iv heard slime is bad for tires, iv heard the gray sealent is bad and iv heard they r both good. I need to know if i should pull my other tires off n clean them out. ANYBODY know about slime?

I used slime before and it doesn't work...can't say if it will damage tires or not but I bought some tan looking stop leak at TSC and that stopped all my leaks...

Berryman is the red pink stuff that tire shops use. As far as slime goes I run it in my lawn mower but I haven't had an issue.

John Deere makes an awesome tire sealant that should be available at any JD dealer. I run it in my mower with no issues and am getting ready to put it in my new 4 wheeler tires.

Not sure but with my experiance slime is GREAT for lawn mowers but HORRIBLE for ATVs.

i'm a firm believer in the green slime . used it a long time and have had no issues . it has sealed up the side wall splits in my lawn mower tires . and I kept it in the john deer at the farm for 10 years with no issues as far as tires breaking down or leaking .

Thanks for the info on the slime sealent. I'll pull more apart n c if it looks like its doing the same. Those green fibrous ball got me curious. It may or may not sesl the tires up, but as long as it dont brake the tire down, im good runnin it again

It is my understanding that the liquid in the tire sealant is only there to carry and distribute the fibers that actually do the sealing.
I believe the green slime uses cotton fibers. Once there is a leak in the tire, the slime starts to seep out of the hole, and thr fibers begin to create a micro "log jam" which ultimately seals the leak.
There are other brands of slime that use a non cotton fiber, as they claim the cotton fibers break down over time.
I bet the little balls you are seeing are balls of cotton fiber from the slime and not your tires

Thats what im lookn for. Thank you for the explination. It does look like lil green cotton balls but there was only 6 n im sure them 6 wont seal many punctures. Thank a lot chris |

Charles...it is called Liquitube tire sealant...
Thats the stuff i got yesterday. I was hopin thats what it was. It wasnt as easy as i thought to break the bead on them atv tires. It was harder to break them than it is on tractor or mid-size tck tires. It actually took the forks n my tractor to pop the bead. I broke the bead on my tractor tire with just a 10lb sledge n 2x4. I drew a pic of obama on the 2x4 n made sure to hit his head everytime   guess my voodoo wasnt to good. He is still screwin this country up |

I followed the instructions listed on the sealant bottle for 3 tires and it worked great...on the forth tire I short changed it because I was running low on sealant and the tire leaked down several times and after about the third time it is holding well...been real happy with it...there for a while every week I had to air up 6 tires before I got ready to hunt...fixed the four wheeler tires and the trailer tires as well...
