Do you guys have gators out there? If I caught a hog in a river around here in the summer, the gators would have the hog AND dogs eaten before I could get there.

We have WAY too many gators here, you can go out on the river behind my house any night you want and shine about 100 in 2-3 hours.............some as big as 12 feet .

We bayed a big sow last winter down in a gator den in a cypress swamp. Den was big enough I could crawl in it (if I had wanted to.....which I didn't...) on my hands and knees without touching sides or top.

I had Monkey, Spur and a 160 lb hog down in the den and you could not see any of them from above ground. Luckily it was Feb and cold so if the gator was home, he was too cold to be eating dogs!! Luckily the hog ran out, dogs sucked it up ABOVE ground and no gator came out after them.....

Gives me the willies just thinking about one catching my dogs....... Tongue
