Here's my two cents....

Once the dog finds out that catching wild pigs is a rush and is allowed, I fear that your pet pig would not be safe.

Just my own opinion though

I agree.  If I owned a hogdog that wouldn't thrash a pet pig, I'd be pretty disappointed. Grin

I have to be very careful with Delta, my "pet pig". I keep her away from all but the puppies.

i caught this pig as a piglet while i was huntin and decided to keep it as a practice pig. but now its just like a dog! it rolls over, follows everyone around, all the little kiddies ride it. the families too attached. My dog hasnt really been started yet. She's lugged up on a few little practice pigs in a pen. When she was a little pup i put her in with this piglette when she was about 9 weeks old. she gave it a hammering and hated it ever since. but now even though i never let them out together, she's not very interested in it.

I agree with aladatrot..Once a dog gets the smell and taste of blood and knows what a pig is pet or not, I wouldn't trust my dogs around it...just my opinon also...
