In my opinion you don't need a true game dog to catch hogs. Getting that athletic build with the nice deep chest and longer legs is definitely an advantage but sometimes those dogs too close to fighting stock don't like to go to the ear. They don't just want to control them. They want to whip em.
Yup, have seen some that try to kill em instead of hold them. They regrip a lot.
The two we got latch hard and just hold luckily.

Guess we got lucky with ours. They all are good at holding, and anchoring. I know what y'all are talking about but we haven't had one try and fight one yet.

He's a nice one, the Hammonds dogs can get pretty big. i like them cause they tend to be on the rangy side which I like. How big is the stud? I'm trying to get a breeding done myself. Good luck with yours.

Good blood there. We've seen the Ch Scatter dog in person a few times. Should throw some leg and bone in there for ya for sure....

Those are some nice ones. The one I will be breeding to is a big one too. His chain weight is around 65-70 and my gyp is about 52 but in shape lean about 47lbs. So they should be good size too. Well I bet yours turn out real nice. You should have yourself some first rate dogs.

Good Luck with the breeding. I've seen Scatter a couple times at Tom's and his littermate was up here a while.

Yes but most of these pups will be stay with me and few close friends. I might sell 1 or 2 if there's some left.
