It's the latest and greatest. Some will sell their soul to have em. Others will wait till the bugs get worked out. Just like the other collars once the bugs are gone and a little knowledge on what works and what don't they will be fine. I have had little issue with my 40's. I know folks running 30's with limited issues. I suspect in a year the 50's will be just as limited on issues. The addition of the Russian satellites will fix issues people now have with the 40's and 30's of losing GPS in thick cover to a certain degree. Improved antenna will be better than current factory but may or may not improve over aftermarket long range antenna. The jury is still out on how good they will be until the average joe gets some time with em.

I like the idea of a bark detector because usually when it says a dog is treed or on point on mine they're laid down cut up

The addition of GLONASS is a big deal. This is the first review I've read that states this. GLONASS In combination with wass will greatly increase GPS accuracy. Now if the antenna is up to snuff for communication with reciever(handheld) they could have something we've all wanted. GPS signal should not be an issue beings now they should track around 29 SAts instead of 9.

I agree....this GLONASS should be a great addition. The brag sheet I read said that right now they have access to 28 sats., GLONASS will add 21 more to this.....either way it's going to be a really good feature seems to me.

I sell and install GPS systems for tractors. Here in southeast AR when using WAS signal we get a maximum of 11 SAts at a time. WAS is what I figure they are also using as standard until now due to the fact that it is free and offers sub-meter accuracy. If we take the same GPS system we use on tractors and add GLONASS  we can track around 29 or so SATs at nearly anypoint with little issue of signal loss. The more the merrier when it comes to GPS and tracking

I dont understand garmin. They just came out with the alpha system, you think they'll adapt the dc50 to work with alpha or is the 320 and dc 50 gonna be their premeire gps system? Makes me always want to wait and just use my 220 and dc30's a little longer til they make up there minds what they are going to produce
