Anyone on here know how to get the brake drum off of a honda 500 4x4? Trying to change the wheel bearings but cant get the brake drum to budge. Used penetrating oil, pryed, whooped on it, and heated it up and then pryed and whooped some more. It should come off but its not. Any ideas?Huh??

Could the shoes be expanded to much and catching on a lip inside the drum? If so, mite hav to back the brake tension off, calapsing the shoes n possibly allowing the drum to slip off.

Not sure then mrs dianna. As mr whitten said though, there mite be an e-clip, flat retaining spring or a round c-clip over the axle end or it could just b a donkey of drum to get off. Iv had beat the carbon out of p/u tck drums, even after the releasing the shoes. If yaw got a slide hammer or could build a slide hammer, 1 that what allow it to b bolted onto the studs, that mite help.

Okay. Heres what happened. I should have started out with this....the wheel bearing went out when I was a long ways from the truck. So I just drove the wheeler back to the truck. Apparently it seized. James finally got mad enough and he broke the brake housing and got the drum off. He said that he has never seen one seize up like this one. I will try to post pics.

When alll else fails.....get a bigger hammer.....and a cutting torch!   Cool
