ive never hog hunted in cleats but I used to duck hunt in my old football cleats during the warmer months, def. helped me with traction issues.

I only hunt in snake boots in the summer and sneakers in the witer.  I dont think cleats would be a bad idea...until you had to walk across a log that spanned the creek.  I seem to do a lot of that going to a bay.  Hard enough to get a bulldog across sometimes, I sure would not want to slip in because cleats would not give traction.

I think tnat its a good idea. Here where we hunt, when the ground is wet it gets slippery as heck. Im always slipping down and having heck with slippery inclines. My favorite shoes to wear hunting is an old pair od tennis shoes.

Lacrosse kneehighs and snake chaps in the summer... but the lacrosses always seem to get flooded, flooded cleats arent as heavy. snake chaps and cleats... that will work. I have a pair in the closet from some co-ed softball a couple years back. Good idea

I'm no stranger to cleats. Wear them pretty often. And my muck boots. The only thing bad about cleats are paved roads. I weigh 396 and there is no give on wet feet and hard pavent/white rock roads. Get you a pair of rubber soaled cleats there softer then the hard plastic and metal tipped ones. Light like a shoe but has more grip. There designed to let water seep back out when you get in arse deep in the creeks. The softer rubber cleats will let you cross trees accross creeks better. Ask blake and ryantbh I know those fellas have seen me in cleats.

As an old quarterback from high school and in college, my cleats are high tops and they give you great support for you ankles.  I plan on taking a pair of my snake boots and an old pair of my cleats and have them put together, then i can have a taste of both worlds.
