14 months old. Some would call him a finished dog. He hunts medium mostly. I mostly hunt fourwheeler, and he stays way ahead of the pack. He's been on about 40 hogs, bayed and helped catch everyone. He lets go when you get hog on the ground and looks for another one. He will chase one about a mile and then comes back unless he can see it. Silent on track, and honors a bay. I'm sure i could finish him out, just a matter of hunting him. Here's my gripe with him. You open the gate and he jumps up into the truck and scratches the dogbox trying to get in. No problem, and when you go and don't take him, he cries until you get back because he loves to hunt so bad. Still no problem, but when you hunt and are heading back to the truck, he freezes as soon as he sees the truck. He wants to stay and hunt. Even after the Garmin says he's been over twenty miles. He will not come up there, you have to go and pick him up. Not that big of an issue, but I have 7 more that will load up on their own. So I'm thinning him out because I have to go pick him up. Not calling him finished because i have seen him quit a hog after a mile. But will find and bay on his own. Have hunted his dam's side for six years. Thats the catahoula/bmc cross. The rhodesian and bulldog on the sire side is from oklahoma. He is solid blue, white streak on chest, ridge on back, and a bobtail. No dog aggression, stays with another male in his kennel. I like the cross, im keeping his brother, just wanted to thin one and thats the only reason I'm thinning him. And I've got 12 puppies on the ground that will be for sale 11-2-13 for $200. Briscoe is for sale for $500. If you want a trial, I'll give you 2 weeks. If he is in the same shape he left in at the end, and for some reason you're not satisfied, I'll return your money. Can write something up if you want to. But don't worry, he's worth twice that much. I live around Arcadia, La., and make occasional trips to Longview, Tx. You can see some videos that he's in on youtube. Just Google Laoutlawhoghunters and click on the youtube link. My name is Wesley and my number is 318-558-0518.
P.S. This is a woods dog, not a pen dog. If the hog is big enough, he will stand back and bay. If he is 120 or less, he gone. Also if you are interested in a puppy, Dam is a registered catahoula out of Mormon's Catahoula Kennels in Missouri. Sire is out of the bmc/catahoula line I mentioned above. Hunted that line for 6 years, and ALL have been baying at 6 months, and some 5 months with a little bit of work. Thanks and happy hunting.
