Howdy folks, my name is Mike. I have been enjoying this forum for a few weeks now and decided I should post something. I first came here looking for information on River Bottom Catahoulas out of Bryan, Tx. I wanted a dog to help work cattle after being tired of doing it alone and went in search of a new pup. Turns out that catahoulas will work cattle well but like hunting hogs better (from what I've read). So I got me a little bob-tailed cat from Kris, he is out of Cowhouse Buddy X Baniks R.B. gypsy. I picked him up Thursday (10/24/13) and he is doing really well. He has figured out his crate is his home and he likes it pretty well, so the house breaking is going good.

Anyway that is enough of a rambling introduction. If there are any guys local to me that would like to meet up and bs about dogs, hogs or what ever hunting that would be cool. I would also like to find someone around here that I can get some live pigs from to train the pup. I'm not trying to get into anyone's hunting spots just want to find new friends to meet with and show me a thing or two about their dogs. If anyone is interested send me a message or an email to mike.repenning@gmail.com

I tried to attach some pictures but they wouldn't load, I'll try again later.

Hope y'all are having a gravy day.

Thanks Mike! Let's give this a try. Sorry if the pictures are poor, they are taken from my iPad.

Thanks! He was being still so I figured I better get a picture while I can. I will see if I can get some more of him later while he is outside with my good camera so y'all can get a better look at him.

Spent two hours tonight looking for this little stinker. I thought he ran off with the big dogs and got lost on the way back. Had my parents wife and kid crawling all over the place looking for him and calling. He was asleep 10' from where we were in a pile of leaves under a porch. Because of his coloring he blended right in the leafs! I'm sore and I'm tired but I am glad he didn't get lost or bit by a copperhead. I shot one copperhead last night and we found 2 more tonight. While I was looking for him I thought it would be nice to have an RF tracking collar, does anyone use these or does every one run GPS nowadays?

On another note do any of you guys teach your dogs to dig up mice and rabbits? we are covered up and Jethro seems to like to dig for them so I encourage him. I may regret that later when all the rabbit and rat holes are dug up all over the yard. Maybe he will get the gophers too.

This is a pretty cool site with quite a few friendly people. I am glad I found y'alls forum and hope to learn a lot from people with experience.
