Just wondering how many on here hunt with dogos. What's your personal experience with them the good, bad indifferent.
Do you run on ground as find and catch or catch dogs only? Temperement issues with other dogs, experience.
The good the bad the ugly.
Why hunt with them and why not?
Just curious.

I hunt dogos almost everyday.
Temperment - Out of all of my dogos I have ever hunted with only one has had a problem. I dint raise this one I bought him at 2 years old so I dont know what went wrong but he didnt not like dominant male dogs. Out of the last 27 dogos I have raised not one has ever had a problem with people or other dogs. They are giant lap dogs and very family friendly. My dogos are also very protective of our family and yard which makes them a great guard dog.
I run them both as RCDs and Lead in catch dog. Tempeture is the main reasoning I go back and fourth. I vest every one of them up when I hunt. My dogos will wind, trail, find, and catch their own hogs with no problem. I would not let 1 hunt alone only in groups of 3. Lead in is fine to only have 1
The only bad thing I have noticed about my dogos is that while they are young their imune systems are not quite as good as some of my other breeds but once they are 9 months to a year old they seem to be fine.
If you would like to know more about the dogo please pm me or give me a call I would be glad to help out in any way. Joe @ 936-394-2931

I love them, very smart, good holders, i will sware by them. I have had mine one on one with some hogs that he has found and i have used him as a running catch dog, and i have used him as a lead in catch dog, and i have used him where i cut him lose soon as i hear a bark. He does good no matter what situation i put him in, and he will run down a pig in a heartbeat.

I love mine, I am impressed by the versitility of the Dogo. I can hunt 1-2 Dogos alone casting winding, I can let them run with the curs, I can send them to a bay from long range, or I can lead in to 10ft if I want to. They seem to be the full package to me, and they come in differant sizes to fit your hunting conditions.
