Once again this hunt is the same week end as the TDHA hunt.  We have been having ours on the first week end in March for 9 years.
We see how they show their support for the groups that trys to protect all in Austin in the Law making.  Hunters just want join together.

Did the TDHA hunt 1 year, but being 8 hours away from Hallettesville is kinda rough.  I enjoyed it and even with that distance I would do it every year if not for work and lack of places to hunt that are big enough to stay on the entire weekend so I wouldnt be wasting time driving from place to place.  I agree with Mason though, TDHA does more for dog hunters than anyone, and if you have to choose between the two, it should honestly be a no brainer.  Thank you TDHA!

Truth be known, tourney hunters shouldn't have to choose, at least not in my opinion, if these tourney directors would pick up the phone make a few calls and contact one another they could all hash out the dates and all this nonsense with trying to have two large events in the same weekend would end...... purely from a monetary standpoint why in the hell would tournament "A" want to compete with tournament "b" for entries on the same weekend???.......... both tournaments would benefit having the events on different weekends.........

im not a tournament hunter but its easy to grasp this concept......

Oh I agree Justin, but like Mason said, its the first weekend in March every year the past 9 years....  So if the other tourney cant think about that and feels they must have it the same weekend, and I had to choose then Im saying I'd pick TDHA.   I think that they def. should pick up the phone and make sure to not have 2 big tourneys at the same time.

yea but I am pretty sure that there tournament is no where as big or as important as the TDHA, I just think its an easy choice if I had to chose but like Justin stated, its not right to make hunter pick and choose like that but one thing Ive realized is moaning and groaning does no good, so all we can do is just wish them both best of luck.

Only hunted the Refugio contest with my son one year, he has since hunted it a couple more times...I take it as an opportunity to meet and mingle with other hog hunters...it seemed difficult to get some to visit, like you were trying to pull teeth or squeeze blood from a turnip...maybe someone should have called someone else about dates of contests, but if not it is what it is...just best not to turn it into a bunch of drama about who should support who...unless I had a place between me and either contest I would hunt neither because I'm not going to hunt here to haul my hogs there, that is me...I think TDHA is after good things for those who run dogs and if it fits your schedule and you can go that is great, if not do what you can to support, just don't think bashing one another is going to accomplish much....js

If I remember right TDHA has told Los Caz to see if they can move weekends but no one has listened. I would think that Keith R and the Pigman could talk to them about that. Hell even the magizine guys(the old bayed solid) I think would rather hunt TDHA then Los Caz but I guess not.

I thought that I had heard about that last year as well but i wasnt sure. O well im betting that tdha will still have quite a turnout and be as or more successful as it has been in the past..... Good organization with better people behind it!
