Ive got a pit gyp with all the drive to catch a hog, straight up hates a hog. Im having a problem with her catching the ear. She always goes low and catches leg or snout. How can i break her of this? All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Get her to a controlled environment and find an extra set of hands. Let her catch, if she isnt on ear take her off and put her on the ear, do it a few times until she starts goin for ear on her own. Give this a shot and see if it works.

I have also found that if you will grab the pig by the back legs and lift them up the easiest thing to catch now is the ear!!

tie the pig on the other side of some hog panels , the ones with the small squares , leave the ear sticking out through a square . dog will have no choice but to grab the ear .
