if the hogs are on the guys property, then the hogs are the property of the land and he has legal rights to file charges. also have your sons boss contact the fsdo in san Antonio, here is the number 210 308 3300 I know there is something in the FARs about this type of issue. id have look in my far book and see which regulation it is. does he know the heli pilot or atleast the company/owner of the acft?

If he is guilty this may also impact his license to fly. Aviation rules and regulations are usually tight and pilot are monitored.

Or someone shoots at a helicopter!!!!!!
No matter why they shot at it, they will be in a federal prison. It won't be long until somebody gets shot and killed by somebody shooting out of a Helicopter.
As long as they r wearing a turban n visit a mosque, it'll b ok. Justin, u better stay inside when u hear the choopers comin

No matter why they shot at it, they will be in a federal prison. I hear what you are saying. Wouldn't the burden of proof be on the pilot? I see a lot of defenses to prove that someone didn't shoot; even if they could determine who possible shot.

When they dig that slug out of the acft, thats the proof. Now if they just shot at but didnt hit, 9 outa 10 times, the feds will believe the pilot first, investigate n turn the "shooter's" life inside out before the investigation is ovr. 1 of my profesors n flt instructor said 1 time they lost an engine, attempted to make an emergency landing bc the other eng could keep them fully airborne to the first available airport. After they declared an emergency, they started their decent to an open field, the farmer walked n shot at them, they went full power, n got away from the guy, found another field, contacted tower n gave tower the location of the shooting n the guy pled guilty n served time for it. N that was nearly 20yrs ago, the laws r more strict on shooting at acft now, compared to back then. Hell, even shining a pen lazer at an acft is a felony.

I dont know how far the san antone fsdo stretches, even though they can give him the proper number, it may b faster for your sons boss just to go to this site, its all the fsdo location in texas, but any fsdo location in the US can be found. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/index.cfm?state=TX
