I like my sig to me it is more accurate and a better weapon then a glock. I carry a glock for my duty and off duty weapon since that is what the department issues. My wife has shot my glocks, sig, a colt gov model, and a barretta in 9, 40, and 45. She rather shoot my sig P220 in 45 acp then the 9mm's or 40's any day.

Sad y'all are all downgrading woman on the caliber. Give them a little more respect gentleman. Just because shes a girl doesent mean she needs a Caliber that's gonna piss someone off when shot.

So lets teach a person to shoot something that may be to powerful for them and scare them off from shooting all together or possibly brake their wrist. Wow your a bright one!! I guess with your line of thinking, lets gove a 7yo kind and hand them a barrett .50 instead of a .22 most folks learn to crawl before walking, but i guess you learned to walk before crawling

My wife uses the glock 36 in 45. Its louder as its smaller but if she has to shoot the louder the better as she will need the excess attention. She has only ever shot in 45 and has never complained about kick. When I started to teach her I told her you only use a gun when you are willing to pull the trigger and if it was me if I pull that trigger I don't want to worry about someone wanting revenge later. Now she says the same and can hit her target well.

I would never put one of my girls in a position like this..

My 14year old has shot the XD-45 and did not have a problem with it. If you ask her she would prefer to shoot an AR-15. My mom that is 68 shoots her Glock 19 with no problem at all.

X2, put them down n out with 1 shot.

The wife were gettn ready to get our chl n she had nvr shot a pistol before, so i shot my xd .45 a couple times n let her watch the recoil to see if its somethn she could handle. She decided to give it a try n the first mag, she was all ovr the target, a couple more clips n she had it dialed in enuf to qualify with it. On qual day, i shot 49 out of 50 n she shot 46 out of 50. Letn her burn 100rds practicing helped her a lot.

Put them down with one shot yes... But if the situation was bad enough a gun needs called for, would she be able to aim fast enough with that 22 and drop that person? Something bigger would stop someone a lot faster if hit in the wrong spot then something small like a 22.

And no I wouldn't give that caliber to a child. I missed the part on him wanting to have this caliber for a child also. Thanks for pointing out how bright I am too. Geeze.

Thanks for the Replies, I mainly wanted to see what yall were shooting in the price range I'm looking at. My brother in Law is a Cop and his service weapon is a Glock 31 the 357sig, he is one reason I want the 357sig caliber. Now I just need to figure out which brand I want...

Shoot, get him to let her shoot his duty weapon.  Then you can see if she can handle it.  That sure as heck makes this a whole lot simpler. lol

I'm located in Baytown. I know they have Gun shops in Houston that has indoor gun ranges. I need to go to one of them and shoot before I buy.
