Cdunn only bad part about doing that is that you will get a wide range of dogs catch to just bay.  If you want catch the best bet is breed catch to catch.  At the vary least the grittiest dog you vcan find to catch.    Idk your digs but lots if leadins dont have the lung that a cur does so breeding the 2 can greatly reduce your lung. Just trying to help

I agree with the post about several dogs that will help ur RCD catch. I have full confidence in Kane's ability as a RCD. I also know that if they are out a ways and it takes a bit to get to them I want every dog on the ground latched on. I feel that numbers and conviction to catch is the key to rough and RCD type packs staying healthy.

To me a good rcd don't need any help. You should be able to take it to the woods solo & it will trail & catch any hog it comes across.  Pit / cur , cur , or a good pit. Wink

Bulldogs. You need something crossed up with a bulldog-bottom line. My cur/pits and cur/ american bulldog mixes range further than my other mixes. If 1 dog gets on a 250+ lb boar and your dogs are spread out, a lot of dogs wont take it on head up, even though they normally catch with other dogs. They'll bay unless you have a crazy ol bulldog that just cant resist to get him a ear. You can have cur bulldog mixes, catahoula bulldogs, plott bulldogs, great dane bulldogs, whatever kind of mix you want. I am going to have some walker hound crossed with razors edge/american bulldog pups next year. You can see my dogs on my facebook page rollingthunderec
